Enermax EG465P-VE 430 Watt PSU

Enermax has been known for there high quality power supply?s and the Enermax EG465P-VE 430 watt power supply is no exception to the rule when it comes to power supplies! Installation was very easy and all the power connectors worked perfectly. The first thing you will notice with the EG465 is the color of the unit is a very attractive blue with colored fan grills. This definitely makes your case look really nice. Perhaps the most overlooked thing in the whole computer is the power supply. Most people think if its 300watt or bigger its automatically better or adequate?WRONG. Even if a power supply claims to be 300/350watt odds are if its under $50 its not worth the metal its made of. What does this do to your system??? Blue Screens, Top Performance Unreachable, Brown Outs, and Instability. All these problems can be caused by a weak or bad power supply. When I first tested the Enermax 430watt I was very impressed with the +5volt and +12volt readings, they were a very impressive 5.10V and 12.43V , these are almost perfect voltages, and even though our tester has allot of fans, and lights the voltages remained stable. This is key to a stable system and AMD?s LOVE stable and strong voltage. Bottom line if you need a new power supply Enermax has you covered weather it be a Intel P4 or a AMD XP the Enermax will power it with ease!

I absolutely LOVE the fan control switch on the back of this Power Supply! This is already quiet enough, but if you computer is in your bedroom this is good while sleeping! See the attractive blue color? You have to love that too!

***UPDATE(3-11-02): About a couple weeks after this review, we noticed that the fan on the BACK of the powersupply has died. Enermax is a world known company, but please realize that this does happen to the best of them. This is why the Rating has dropped from a 10/10 to an 8/10.
