First of all, make sure the lid is completely clean and dry.

Next make a small notch in the edge of the lid just large enough to fit the leads of an led that will be covered in heat shrink.

Now cut a circle of foil tape about the size of a penny.

Stick the piece of foil tape into the center of the lid.

The foil tape is to reflect the light from the led and help spread it through out the lid.

Now place a small bead of hot glue, about a 1/4 on an inch in size, Inside the lid, off centered

and in line with the notch you cut out earlier.
